Associate Producers must be able to execute tight, active writing and create teases that are worth our viewers` attention. The primary responsibility for this position is to produce newscasts and other content for all media platforms.

Bachelor`s Degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field are preferred.

WHIO-TV is looking for a Design Director. The successful candidate will be a skilled designer, leader, and problem solver; should also be energetic, customer-minded, organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task in a high energy and fast-paced environment. This individual will support television news, broadcast marketing, CMGO marketing, public affairs and certain high-value clients.
§Lead and guide the design team
§Analyze internal customer needs, and align resources to best fulfill them.
§Create robust template library for news producers
- §Train news producers on use of graphics; develop and police style guidelines
- §Implement more streamlined processes between news and graphics departments
§Develop best practices for department based on work at CMG sister stations
§Storytelling. Develop visual elements that add value and clarity to a story. Collaborate with producers and reporters to this end.
§Build a communication bridge through active daily engagement with the newscast producers and EPs.
§Provide daily elements as ordered with a goal of zero errors to include: OTS, full screens, maps, etc.
§Responsible for understanding problems and providing solutions
§Take ownership of the process for all daily news graphic production including studio and news editor pre-production
§Support promotion producers with animations, titles, 3D graphics, color correction, and other graphic work as needed.
§Evolve station’s look and library on a constant basis.
§Provide art direction for important projects and campaigns.
§Assume producer role on some projects, especially those involving high levels of animation or art design.
§Design vehicle branding and station apparel
§Consult on set design
§Work with news technology manager and engineering to achieve best lighting, blocking, and use of sets.
§Design print and digital advertising as needed, with consistent look and feel.
§Research graphics hardware and software, and make budget recommendations for future acquisition.
§Research graphic ideas and techniques from networks, advertisers, and broadcast news outlets for use in newscasts and marketing.
§Design degree with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in broadcast or motion graphics; or related field experience.
§3 to 5 years of management experience preferred
- §A reel that demonstrates an understanding of contemporary broadcast design standards
- §Proficiency in motion graphics
- §Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator required. You should be comfortable editing with Avid and Premiere.Knowledge of Cinema 4D strongly preferred.
- §Problem solving, interpersonal skills, capacity to work in multiple platforms.
- §Deko and Dekocast – design and technical proficiency
§Strong customer service orientation
§Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment meeting deadlines (with frequent interruptions)
§Must demonstrate teamwork, strong organization skills, be detail oriented, and able to effectively manage multiple priorities.
