Job Summary/Basic Function: Tenure track position beginning August 15, 2016 in WSU’s Motion Pictures Program.Responsibilities include teaching advanced motion picture production courses; mentoring student thesis productions; acting as a liaison between the program and the motion picture industry; service to the department, college, and university.
Minimum Qualifications MFA in motion picture production or an Bachelor’s degree in a related field and equivalent professional work experience of at least 3 years, such as industry experience with visual effects, animation & graphics, compositing, cinematography, and/or contemporary post-production workflow, a record of creative, scholarly, or professional accomplishments, such as film festival screenings, awards, publications & honors, evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, such as teaching at the university level, leading professional workshops, syllabi, student evaluations, and/or teaching philosophy statement, ability to teach in the area of motion picture production with a specialization in one or more of the following: visual effects, animation & graphics, compositing, cinematography, and/or contemporary post-production workflow. The successful candidate should also be on the forefront of production technologies and practices.

Working Conditions The Motion Pictures Program recently moved into the new Motion Pictures Center, a state of the art facility equipped with a large studio, production classrooms, green room, editing rooms, color correction room, and audio lab.To preserve the safety and security of the campus community and to maintain the integrity of university operations, it is the policy of Wright State University before making an employment offer at the final stage to verify whether a job applicant has a criminal record.
