Actor/Director James Franco Brings Two Productions To Cincinnati Area

Actor / Director James Franco’s production companies,”Killer Films” and “Rabbit Bandini”, the addition of a second film to their schedules while in Cincinnati this spring.

Earlier in April, it was announced that Franco’s production company would be working with the Greater Cincinnati Film Commission on “Goat”, an indie film starring Ben Schnetzer, Nick Jonas. The feature is centered around the hazing of two brothers that pledge to the same college fraternity.

This week, a second film was announced by the production companies and the Greater Cincinnati Film Commission. The lower budget, film, “The Long Home” will take place in the region, giving focus to the rural areas of Eaton and Lebanon, Ohio.  According to Variety Magazine, Franco will direct “The Long Home”, based on the novel by William Gay. The backdrop of 1940’s rural Tennessee is the scene of violent bootlegger Dallas Harden and the tragedy and destruction he brings to a small rural town.

Two of Franco’s “Rabbit Bandini” production company partners, Vince Jolivette and Jay Davis, were born and raised in Hamilton, Ohio.
“We definitely have been wanting to shoot in Ohio, especially in our hometown, for some time, and we really wanted to make a point to come back here,” said Davis.
